Skip

"I'm in charge of the armory."
The Old Camp armory
Skip runs the Old Camp's armory. He sells weapons to the camp's own men, but does not treat the armory as an ordinary shop: a newcomer has to belong before Skip will hand over its stock.
His first answer to the Hero is therefore not a price, but a boundary—only their men may buy.
Names do not open the armory
When the Hero invokes Thorus's name, Skip becomes suspicious rather than impressed. He doubts the claim, tells the Hero to clear off, and says that a threat of an ass-kicking on Thorus's orders would probably leave Skip doing the kicking himself.
Gomez's name fares no better. Skip will not let borrowed authority replace the camp's rules.
A guarded supplier
Skip's hostility is practical. He is responsible for weapons and does not know whether a stranger is there to buy, steal, or test the limits of the castle.
Even when he finally asks what the Hero wants, the conversation returns to gear and access rather than trust. His armory remains a privilege of the Old Camp's men, not a service offered to anyone who can find the door.
What other NPCs say
Stone names Skip while explaining the New Camp's division of trade: Skip sells weapons, while Stone handles armor. The brief reference still gives Skip a concrete place in the camp's economy and clarifies why the Hero is sent to one trader rather than the other.
