Brannok
Bandit · Bandit Camp
"Here's the deal: do something for me, and you can walk through that door and tell a certain someone about your baal's proposal."
Brannok guards the entrance to Quentin's Bandit Camp and makes it clear that curiosity is not a reason to be admitted. He has a quick temper and a sharper sense of the camp's security, but he will make a deal with someone willing to prove useful.
The price of entry
Brannok sends the Hero to learn the fate of Arlin, a bandit held by the Old Camp after a job went wrong. The task is deliberately cruel: if Arlin betrayed the bandits, Brannok expects the Hero to deal with him; if not, he expects an escape. Keeping that promise wins an audience with Quentin, though Brannok warns that the camp's tolerance ends the moment the Hero gives it reason to doubt him.
Quest involvement
- Bar the Truth: Brannok sends you to the Old Camp prison to find Arlin. Also keep Brannok's group alive until the job is finished. I can report back to Brannok.
- The Rogues' Camp: Brannok identifies Arlin as the person you need to track down.
- A New Arrangement: Brannok identifies Arlin as the person you need to track down.
What other NPCs say
Quentin mentions Brannok while explaining that a novice once approached the group and raised the same problem Cor Kalom is now investigating. The context presents Brannok as a leader beyond the settled camps whose group is organized enough to attract attention from both the Brotherhood and the New Camp.
Brannok’s warning about Quentin
- Take off mage robes: Before Brannok sends the Hero to Quentin, he warns that Quentin attacks robe-wearers on sight. Approach Quentin in ordinary clothing rather than mage robes if you want the conversation to continue.
