Ghorim

Novice · Swamp Camp

"I'm hangin' by a thread here, been mashin' those fuckin' herbs for two days straight."

The herb mashers

Ghorim is a novice worn out from mashing herbs without relief. He says Harlok should have taken over ages ago and guesses that he is still snoring in his hut.

Ghorim cannot simply walk away while Baal Orun is watching; the herbs have to be mashed, and his post has to be held.

Finding Harlok

Ghorim asks the Hero to remind Harlok to take his shift, threatening that if he refuses, I'm gonna give him the beatin' of a lifetime. He directs the Hero to Harlok's hut under Kalom's lab, next to Fortuno's shop.

The errand is small, but it shows how the Brotherhood's grand ritual depends on novices passing along the most ordinary work.

A little rest

Once Harlok finally shows up, Ghorim is relieved and grateful. He thanks the Hero for getting him away from the mashers long enough to rest, making clear that his complaint was not about refusing the Brotherhood's work forever—he simply needed someone else to take the shift that had already become his for too long.

Quest involvement

  • Ghorim's Replacement: Ghorim's Replacement Ghorim is stuck mashing herbs while Harlok sleeps through his replacement shift. You can talk Harlok into relieving Ghorim or provoke him into moving.

What other NPCs say

Baal Orun mentions Ghorim after the Hero has defended him, praising the action as helping a brother in need. That context matters because Ghorim is not being celebrated for rank or skill; his significance comes from the Brotherhood's expectation that its members should stand up for one another.
