The arena fighter

Kirgo fights in the Old Camp's arena and introduces himself plainly. He is eager for outside news because it has been more than a month since the last newcomer arrived, and he is willing to trade a beer for stories.

The Hero's two months in a dungeon before being thrown into the Colony interests him as much as any rumour from beyond the Barrier.

Earning Scatty's notice

When the Hero says he wants to fight to make a name for himself, Kirgo guesses that he is really trying to impress Scatty. Beating Kirgo would get the Hero noticed; defeating Kharim or Gor Hanis would impress Scatty properly, although Kirgo doubts the Hero is ready for either of them.

Kirgo has not fought for long, but he has already won a couple of matches and is willing to spar whenever the Hero is ready. He treats the contest as practice rather than a grudge, opening with, may the better fighter win!

A shipment under pressure

Kirgo also handles a dangerous shipment when Thorus sends the Hero to help. He expects three carriers and has to send the Hero to the diggers when they are missing.

When the shipment is attacked, Kirgo calls the fight close but thanks the Hero for making it through and promises that Thorus will be pleased.

Quest involvement

  • Joining the Warders: Meet Kirgo at the Exchange Zone for a shipment escort. Kirgo takes over once the ambush is beaten, so report the result to Thorus in the Old Camp. I'm supposed to meet with Kirgo at the Exchange Zone.

What other NPCs say

Diego and Thorus discuss Kirgo in connection with the Old Camp's arena and the Hero's reputation, while Scatty reports whether the Hero challenged him successfully. Kirgo is therefore a public test: the result of a fight with him travels through the camp even when the match itself is private.
