The guru hierarchy

Baal Tyon is a guru of the Brotherhood who ignores the Hero's greetings and small gifts alike, answering a humble present with a wary grunt and casual talk with a sigh. He is also quick to draw a boundary around the camp's leadership: when the Hero suggests that Cor Angar should guide the Brotherhood, Tyon answers that Angar is a templar, not a guru, and that the camp needs wisdom and spirit rather than muscle.

The vision

Baal Tyon opens up only after experiencing what he calls a vision by the Sleeper's grace. He sees a new Brother unlike all those who came before him descending an ancient stone stairway with a sword in hand.

The vision ends there, leaving him with an image rather than an explanation.

A sign to be heeded

When Baal Tyon realises the Hero resembles the figure from the vision, suspicion replaces indifference. He asks who the Hero is and what he put in the roll, wondering whether the whole thing is a trick.

The Hero's claim to be a humble servant of the Sleeper does not resolve the mystery, but the vision felt too powerful for Tyon to dismiss, so he sends the Hero to Cor Kalom with his recommendation.

Quest involvement

  • Admission to the Swamp Camp: Baal Kagan gives you a smoke roll for Baal Tyon, who only speaks to his students. I gotta get Baal Tyon's support.

What other NPCs say

Baal Kagan discusses Tyon while explaining why some Brotherhood gurus have become difficult to approach. Y'Berion once asked Tyon for advice, and Tyon's status went to his head; he now restricts conversation to his students, turning spiritual prestige into social isolation.
