Cor Angar

Guru · Swamp Camp

We fight with unity and willpower. That is the source of our strength.

Cor Angar leads the templars through the Brotherhood's crisis. Before the Great Awakening, he tests the Hero against Gor Na Dun before allowing him to join the minecrawler hunt, then directs him to Lester in the mine and explains how to take a crawler's mandibles without spilling the ichor.

Yberion's final tasks

After the ritual kills Yberion, Angar tells the Hero that the linked minds saw a dungeon, a mask, and a gate. He sends him with the templars to the orc graveyard, where Baal Lukor has gone, because Yberion believed the Hero was acting through the Sleeper's design. When the graveyard reveals an orc mural and Lukor is lost, Angar connects that evidence with Yberion's final warning that the Sleeper is death.

Angar asks the Hero to put Yberion's ashes to rest at either the ancient tree or the orc graveyard. He treats the choice as an honour and awards templar armor when it is done. He also grants a teleport rune after the Hero serves the camp.

Holding the Brotherhood together

Angar will not follow Kalom's claim that the orcs imprison the Sleeper. He fears that telling the shaken novices the whole truth will drive them to Kalom, but still argues that the Brotherhood must survive without abandoning every bond it has built in the Colony.

Angar's response to the crisis is shaped by duty to the people still in the camp. He cannot promise that the Brotherhood will be unchanged, yet refuses to treat Yberion's death as a reason to abandon everyone who built a life there. His choices keep the Hero's later work tied to a camp struggling to endure.

What other NPCs say

Chani explains that Cor Angar is leading the camp and that most of the templars follow him. Other gurus challenge him during the Sleeper crisis, arguing that he refuses to face what the visions demand, so the references show a leader with military loyalty but weakening spiritual authority. Gor Na Dun goes further than simple disagreement, arguing that Cor Angar's inability to accept the Sleeper's demand shows he is unworthy to lead.

Cor Angar’s training and rank-up checks

  • Who he trains: Cor Angar trains templars only. Joining the Brotherhood is not enough; the Hero must have reached the templar rank before the advanced two-handed lessons become available.
  • The minecrawler test: Before Angar sends the Hero into the mine, he requires a test fight against Gor Na Dun. Stay on the platform and use no lethal blows; the fight ends when one fighter goes down.
  • Earning templar armor: After the later crisis, Angar’s armor offer still has one condition: put Y’Berion’s ashes to rest at either the ancient tree or the orc graveyard, then report back to him.
