Bartholo
Ore Baron · Old Camp
"Bartholo. You'd do well to remember that name."
Gomez's household
Bartholo introduces himself with a warning that the Hero would do well to remember his name. He manages trade with the other camps, camp provisions, and Gomez's women, while currently keeping an eye on two incompetent chefs so they do not ruin Gomez's meals.
Gomez is sensitive about that; the previous chefs were fed to the snappers.
The swamp-herb delivery
When the Hero delivers swamp herbs from Cor Kalom for Gomez, Bartholo inspects them and approves. The Hero arrives at the right time because Gomez is getting impatient, so Bartholo pays the agreed five hundred nuggets.
If the delivery is incomplete, he refuses payment and sends the Hero back for the rest, warning him not to have sold any of it on the side.
An unwanted arrival
Later, Bartholo is ready for trouble when an unwanted arrival appears. He says he had a hunch someone would try a teleport, then demands coldly, any last words?
The moment shows the other side of his position: he is not only a provisioner, but one of the people trusted to defend Gomez's household when negotiation is over.
Quest involvement
- Herb Delivery: Take the delivery to Bartholo, not Gomez. Bartholo refuses a partial delivery and pays the agreed 500 nuggets only for the complete load.
What other NPCs say
Raven, Scorpio, and Thorus direct the Hero to Bartholo when a delivery or official matter must reach the castle. Syra also refers to him while describing who is or is not stopping someone, showing that his position as provisioner gives him influence over both supplies and movement inside Gomez's household.
