Ian

Shadow · The mines

"I know you baldies are desperate for that crawler juice, but no fuckin' way I'm riskin' me good men for some idiot idea your master Loon came up with."

Ian runs the Old Mine in Gomez's absence and speaks as someone who has no patience for visitors distracting his workers. He understands the value of magical ore, but he is more concerned with keeping the mine functioning and keeping his people alive among the minecrawlers.

The Old Mine

Ian provides the supply list that Diego needs for the Hero's Old Camp test, but he does not offer favors lightly. When the Hero asks for access to the collapsed tunnel, Ian makes a replacement gear for the ore crusher the price of even considering it, then refuses to risk miners for the Brotherhood's minecrawler business until the danger is properly dealt with.

Quest involvement

  • Test of Faith: Diego's test is to get Ian's Old Mine supply list. Asking Ian normally gets you nowhere. I'm supposed to get the supply list from Ian.
  • Cog in the Wheel: You need one of the cogs for this hand-in with Ian. I gotta take the cog to Ian.
  • The Minecrawler Nest: Ian initially asks for a replacement cog, but later refuses permission. I need Ian's permission. Ask Ian for clearance.

What other NPCs say

Diego introduces Ian as the man in the Old Mine who can receive the supply list, giving the Hero the password about hungry crawlers. Once the Hero reaches the mine, Ian's name is tied to permission, instructions, and the danger of the minecrawlers, making him the bridge between Old Camp errands and mine operations.
