A fortress full of unfinished memories

Lester leads the hero to a mountain fortress whose old rooms have survived long enough to hide both a focus stone and the traces of the people who once lived there. The front route seems to end until the bookshelves reveal a mechanism. Knowledge has literally become the door: the way forward is hidden among the records left behind.

The focus rests above the ruin, surrounded by a power Lester can feel even when the hero cannot. His headaches grow stronger as they approach, echoing the strange symptoms that have affected other novices and explorers near powerful sites. The stone is not merely waiting to be collected; it is exerting an influence on the people who come close.

A companion at the edge of the signal

Lester helps open the fortress and covers the hero while the search continues, but he stays behind once the focus is found. He has discovered telekinesis scrolls and a land deed belonging to the nobleman who once owned the mountain and fortress. The deed may be worthless while the Barrier stands, yet could become a fortune if the world outside is ever reachable again.

Those discoveries give the ruin two possible futures. The focus belongs to the Water Mages' urgent plan, while the deed belongs to a forgotten world of ownership that might return if the Barrier falls. Lester remains to explore because the fortress is still full of evidence that the colony's history did not begin with the prison.

One stone in a larger rescue

Taking the focus to Saturas turns the hero's private expedition into part of a plan meant to free everyone. The mountain fortress shows why the search requires both fighters and people who can read old places: the stone is guarded by architecture, memory, and a magic that can affect the mind.
