Baal Parvez
Other · Old Camp
"He alone holds the power to free us from this wicked place."
A guide through the swamp
Baal Parvez is a recruiter and guide for the Brotherhood of the Sleeper. He greets the Hero with May the Sleeper be with you, stranger!
and offers to lead him through the swamps.
Parvez's recruitment is not only a sermon: he knows the paths, points out useful plants, and asks the traveller to stay on them whenever possible.
The Brotherhood's promise
Parvez says the Sleeper first visited Master Y'Berion in a dream five years ago and has guided the Brotherhood ever since. Joining means renouncing Adanos, Innos, and Beliar in favour of the Sleeper, who alone holds the power to free them from the Colony.
He describes the coming Great Awakening as the moment when the Sleeper will finally speak in his true voice and show the Brotherhood how to liberate him.
A different life
Parvez presents the Brotherhood as an escape from the ore barons' mines. The swamp provides food, and swampweed opens the mind while also serving as a trade good exchanged with the other camps for outside supplies.
For a chosen few, the Sleeper may grant magic—an ancient power unlike the arts practised by Myrtana's mages—and the best fighters may rise to become templars. Parvez directs anyone who wants to join to Cor Kalom, who supervises the novices.
Bringing strangers home
When the Hero agrees to visit the camp, Parvez leads him to the ruins and explains who will let him through. Afterward he intends to return to the Old Camp, where he believes there are still lost souls waiting for guidance.
His role is therefore both spiritual and practical: he sells a vision of freedom, then walks people to the place where that vision is meant to become a life.
What other NPCs say
Lares and Raven recommend Baal Parvez when the Hero needs someone to show him the way through the Old Camp. The advice presents him as a guide who enjoys explaining the route to fresh arrivals, a small but useful service that makes him approachable despite belonging to the Brotherhood.
