Mordrag

Other · Old Camp

We're free. We ain't got no gurus or ore barons orderin' us around.

Mordrag is a New Camp rogue working openly in the Old Camp until Thorus decides he has stolen too much from the ore barons. Faced with expulsion, Mordrag offers the Hero a choice: carry out Thorus's order, or travel with him to the New Camp and meet Lares.

The road to the New Camp

Mordrag guides the Hero through the wilderness, pointing out Cavalorn's hunting ground, dangerous caves, the old revolt cages, and the approach to the New Camp. At the gate he gives the Hero a ring for Lares and stays near the tavern on the lake island, where the Old Camp's growing attention is less dangerous.

A rogue's view of freedom

He describes the New Camp as a place without gurus or ore barons, supported by its own mine and a plan the Water Mages hope will buy an escape. He is also known as a courier for the Water Mages and explains that their seal can open the castle to a recognised messenger.

  • Out of Sight: I gotta find Mordrag. I gotta get rid of Mordrag.

What other NPCs say

Mordrag is mentioned during discussions of the route between camps, the Hero's dealings with Fisk, and the possibility of solving a dispute by force. Lares and other New Camp figures treat him as a useful contact, while Thorus's anger shows why the same name can trigger an Old Camp political response. Lares treats Mordrag's trust as a credential, telling the Hero that bringing back his ring is “quite an endorsement.”
