Talas is sent to retrieve Yberion's book on the focus stones from the Fire Mages, but Thorus refuses him entry to the castle despite his sigil. Afraid of returning empty-handed and being sent back to the mashers by Baal Orun, Talas delays the job by smoking rolls instead of reporting his failure.

The lost tome

When the Hero takes over the errand, Talas explains that the book was lost by a mage and carried off by goblins near the bridge and waterfall. He offers to lead the way, but repeatedly finds reasons to remain outside the dangerous cave. Once the tome is recovered, he asks the Hero to make sure Yberion knows that he helped.

The orc graveyard

After the Great Awakening, Cor Angar names Talas as the guide to the orc graveyard where Baal Lukor has gone. Talas leads the Hero as far as the bridge, then refuses to enter the graveyard himself and returns to the camp.

Quest involvement

  • The Almanac: Travel with Talas to the goblin cave.
  • Orc Cemetery: Talas could show me to the orc cemetery.

What other NPCs say

Cor Angar and Y'Berion mention Talas while the Brotherhood is trying to retrieve important information or objects. Other directions treat him as someone who can guide the Hero through the swamp camp, so his practical reliability matters at a time when the camp's spiritual crisis is disrupting ordinary plans. Y'Berion's request for Talas comes while the Brotherhood is preparing for a serious undertaking, showing that the novice is trusted with more than routine errands.
