Quest Parts
- Bully for Bullit:
- I should teach Bullit a lesson.:
- Syra will want to know about this.:
Outcome
The peaceful route gets Bullit's promise; the other route is a direct brawl.
A warder's impunity
Bullit's cruelty is protected by his uniform and his friendships. He is not merely another thug in the Old Camp: he is a warder, one of Gomez's old companions, and a man who can expect the other guards to close ranks around him. The Exchange Zone attack on the hero is dismissed as a camp tradition, while Syra is left to deal with the daily version of that same power.
Syra explains that Bullit takes her ore and orders her to clean his room while he and his men watch. She cannot challenge him without risking an immediate response from the guards, and even a successful fight would bring half the warders down on her. Her only opening is the route Bullit takes on his solitary, drunken walks at night.
A threat with more than one answer
The hero can meet Bullit on those terms and force a promise that he will leave Syra alone, or turn the confrontation into a direct brawl. The peaceful outcome is not a transformation: Bullit treats the promise as an inconvenience and remains the same man. The fight is more final, but it carries the danger Syra warned about.
The choice matters because it gives Syra something the camp has denied her—a decision about what happens next. The hero's intervention does not erase the hierarchy that made Bullit feel untouchable, but it interrupts his protection long enough for her to breathe.
The first crack in the old camp
Afterward, Syra admits that one bully being stopped may only mean another takes his place tomorrow. The encounter makes her consider leaving the Old Camp for the Swamp Camp, where she has heard women are treated more safely. Velaya and Seraphia are part of that hope, so Bullit's harassment becomes the beginning of a wider question: whether the women of the castle can build a life anywhere under Gomez's rule.
