Outcome
Report to Wedge, then Lares. The successful route gets you accepted into the gang and includes a clothing reward and experience.
An ambush built from paperwork
Lares's convoy raid is the payoff for the supply-list deception. The altered list has made the Old Camp shipment more valuable, while Wedge has chosen ground where the wagon will bog down in wet earth. The plan depends on information, terrain, and timing before a weapon is ever drawn.
Gorn supplies the hero with better steel, but Wedge's instructions are more important than the blade. The guards must see a helpful fresh face, not a member of the gang waiting to attack. The hero is the decoy because the convoy has not yet learned to recognize them.
Loot without a war
Once the guards are stranded, Wedge's men take the goods while the hero keeps attention away from the real operation. Wedge specifically forbids killing. The New Camp wants the supplies, not a massacre that gives Gomez a reason to retaliate immediately.
That restraint reveals Lares's strategy. The gang is resisting the Old Camp, but it is not yet strong enough to survive open war. A successful raid must embarrass the ore barons and strengthen the New Camp without turning one shipment into a declaration that neither side can withdraw.
The moment the outsider belongs
Reporting back to Wedge and Lares completes the hero's transition from useful newcomer to trusted member of the gang. The clothing reward marks the change outwardly, but the deeper admission comes from being trusted with the plan's most delicate role: to stand close to the enemy and make them believe the hero is on their side until it is too late.
