A weapon that divides the allies

Once Xardas identifies what Uriziel can do, the hero needs help restoring it. Gorn is willing to create a distraction so the hero and Milten can reach the blue-ore pile, but his condition is firm: the guards in the way are to be knocked out, not slaughtered. The old camp is still full of people who might once have fought beside the hero, and Gorn does not want a desperate plan to become an excuse for a massacre.

Milten understands the spell but hesitates when he learns that the energy will come from the New Camp's reserve. The ore is not an anonymous magical fuel; hundreds of men have worked for it and entrusted it to the Water Mages as their hope of freedom. Restoring one sword asks the hero to risk that shared hope for a more direct path against the Sleeper.

Honesty before the final journey

Saturas recognizes the danger of Xardas's plan and warns that the other Water Mages may never forgive the hero for touching the ore. He still respects a decision made openly, even while fearing that Xardas is using the hero for his own ambitions. The conflict is not between good and evil choices so much as between two visions of rescue: break the Barrier through the Water Mages' patient plan, or strike at the power disrupting it.

When Uriziel is restored, the hero has to return to Xardas with both the weapon and the consequences. The sword's power is now inseparable from the trust it has cost, and the path to the Sleeper has become a point of no return for the alliances that made the hero's journey possible.
